Physician and writer of the acclaimed book ‘Sunya ko Mulya’ Dr. Nawaraj KC has released his second book titled ‘Swosparsha’ amid a function in Mid University University grounds in Surkhet. Unveiling the book were his mother, his son and his Maternal Uncle.
The Pediatrician, a native of Surkhet has been serving in Karnali Province for the last decade in multiple roles. Most of the times as a doctor organizing free health camps all over Karnali and also as an environmental activist with a peadge of planting over a hundred thousand trees and most recently as a writer and educator.

Subtitled ‘ Aasha, Prerana ra Khushika katha’ (Stories of Hope, Inspiration and Happiness) and described as a ‘creative non-fiction’ , Swosparsha has real life stories of people in and around Karnali who have overcame various odds in their lives and have been living with hope and happiness. Dr. KC, in his trademark style of tagging life philosophy along with real life stories has relied heavily on Buddhist Philosophy and Psychology to contextualize the stories and make them applicable in our lives.
Speaking on the occasion Ajit Baral; writer, translator and Co-Founder cum managing editor of Fine Prints, which has published the book has expressed hope that more writers would come up from Karnali in the days to come. Principal of SOS Hermann Gmeiner School Surkhet, Harihar Basnet gave emphasis on building a strong emotional and intellectual core through reading.
Key speaker of the event was Subin Bhattrai, acclaimed writer of summer love and Ijoriya He praised the writer for finding stories that would otherwise be lost in oblivion. He also read few one liners from the book and expressed his wish of seeing this book in schools and universities.
Ashmite Badi, a poet also featured in the book recited her poem ‘Kapra ko Rukh’. The event was followed by Gazal Sajh by six various poets.
